					<description>Steve-

I thought the HHRF program was very valuable. The program lasted 8 weeks long, and the stipend was $4000. I believe that there a lot of people who apply (how many I am not sure)- it's open to Duke freshmen, though I know we had one non-Duke rising senior participate last year. The program covers housing and mail costs in addition to the stipend, and the apartments are located on campus and in walking distance of the labs. Plus, there are numerous seminars that are interesting as well on topics from medical ethics to regulation of the cell cycle. I believe there were about 30 of us in the end who participated in the program.

					<description>Dear Priyanka,

So it sounds like you would really recommend the Howard Hughes Research Fellows Program. This is a great review for the program and it seems that the benefits from your summer experience kept going throughout the year. So the program lasted for 8 weeks? Are there a lot of people who apply to the program? Do you get a stipend? Thanks
